Bars

This is a video of a backward giant. This is the most easy kind of giant to do. You will most likely want grips to do this skill, to keep from slipping off the bar. If you are scared or having problems getting this skill you can try doing them on a strap bar. This is a skill that you will need depending on how far you wish to go with gymnastics.



This is a video of drills that will help you get a perfect kip. You must have this skill if you ever wish to go anywhere in gymnastics. A kip is used in routines from level 5 all the way to elite gymnastics.


This is a video of me doing a low bar kip. I know it is not the best but it shows what the drill is helping you accomplish. In my kip there are a few things I can do to make it better. First I need to work on my form, small things like keeping your head in, your toes pointed, and legs straight. I also need to look out my arms, this is a huge part of the skill that judges will take points off for.


This is a long hang kip. It is almost the same except for the fact that it is on a high bar, and the glide is a little different. The corrections I need to make on this are pretty much the same as the corrections I need to make on my low bar kip.
